A Venezuelan kitchen in Minnesota

Two favorites.
One very
good name.

Tequeños. Arepas.
Put them together, and you have us.

TequeArepa brings Venezuelan favorites to Eden Prairie. Come for a quick lunch, bring someone who’s never tried an arepa, or settle in with the order you already know by heart.

If you’re new around here

Let’s start
with the food.

01

What’s an arepa?

A round of corn dough, baked, split open, and filled. Think warm bread with a crisp outside and room for beef, chicken, pork, cheese, beans, or vegetables.

02

And a tequeño?

A stick of white cheese wrapped in pastry and fried until golden. Order a few for the table. Sharing is up to you.

03

Something sweet and savory?

Try a cachapa, a sweet corn pancake folded around cheese. Add meat if you like, or let the corn and cheese do the talking.

More than a menu

A family story,
shared over food.

In an interview with Eden Prairie Lifestyle, the Chacón family shared how their Venezuelan home cooking became a restaurant in the community they chose to call home.

That story is worth a read, preferably with an arepa nearby.
